Youth Lead organization WFN Charges for Climate-Smart Farming in Siraha District, Nepal in support of Care Nepal

Siraha District, Nepal – Young changemakers are spearheading a crucial movement towards climate-smart agriculture, actively combating harmful traditional practices and promoting sustainable farming methods. Through innovative community engagement, these youth leaders are raising awareness about the detrimental effects of burning cow dung cakes and crop residue, as well as the overuse of chemical fertilizers.

In Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality, Dhangadhimai Municipality, and Lakshmipur Patari Rural Municipality, interactive community dialogues and engaging awareness games are empowering local farmers with knowledge about eco-friendly alternatives. These initiatives focus on demonstrating how sustainable practices can not only protect the environment but also enhance agricultural productivity.

The movement is a collaborative effort, supported by CARE Nepal and the National Farmer’s Group Federation, Nepal (राष्ट्रिय कृषक समूह महासंघ,नेपाल). Green Rangers Earth and Climate Change Pioneer Madhesh (CCPM) are providing critical technical support, ensuring the program’s effectiveness and long-term impact.

This youth-driven initiative highlights the power of community-based education in fostering sustainable agricultural practices.
